As of 01 July 2002 the Migration Regulations 1994 were amended under
Regulation 2.26B, Relevant Assessing Authorities. It is now the
responsibility of the designated professional bodies to establish the
skills (qualifications and experience) criteria for people contemplating
migrating to Australia. The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is the
designated body.
The ACS has reviewed the current assessment criteria and has adopted new
Guidelines for Skills Assessment. These new Guidelines apply to all skills
assessment applications received by ACS on or after 1 October 2002, except
where the application is under the recent graduate criteria.
